MAP BUILDER & MY MAPS FEATURE ENHANCEMENTS

  • Map Builder Writing Window Editor -  IMPROVED!
    • We replaced the editor (formatting tools) used in the Writing Window.  Overall functionality and user experience is significantly improved.
    • Highlighting text (by character or word) is now possible.
    • IE11 users can now add text to the writing window.

SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS: MAJOR FEATURE ENHANCEMENTS


1. CREATING ACCOUNTS FOR TEACHERS

    • New Actions button on Licenses page and User List page: 
      • Menu options:  Users List;  Add new user (single); Add new users in bulk; Export (current users list to csv)

      • Reset (Delete all users): this will reset the Student License to zero (0) registered users, deleting all student accounts and maps
    • New bulk uploading features!

3. RENEWALS - NEW!
Renewals are now handled as new licenses for Teachers rather than as one license that is extended with each renewal period.  This results in improved data tracking and license maintenance.
  • In the school administrator Dashboard, all active and recently expired licenses will appear at the bottom of the page
  • In the Licenses screen all active licenses will be available to administer
  • As School Administrators, you will receive a Renewal email from Thinking Maps alerting them that their school's TMLC license has been renewed, including the updated subscription details
    • If the renewal is for the same number of or more teachers seats as the previous subscription, you will see a Transfer Users from other licenses link in the Actions drop-down menu for the Teacher license. You will be able to select the license to transfer from, then copy all of the teacher accounts to the new license with one click of a button.
    • If the renewal is for less teachers seats than the previous subscription, you will need to either:
      • delete the non-transferring accounts from the existing (soon to expire) license, then use the Transfer Users feature or...
      • use the Add Users in bulk-->Bulk Updater feature to add teachers accounts to the renewal license.

MAP BUILDER & MY MAPS BUG FIXES


1. Double Bubble maps:

  • Issue: border colors of moveable bubble nodes revert to the previously set color when moved.
  • Fix: moving the nodes no longer changes the border color.

2. Double Bubble maps:

  • Issue: attempting to move one of the 2 root nodes intermittently left the connectors to other nodes unconnected.
  • Fix: attempting to move root nodes no longer causes this problem.
3. Thumbnail images: My Maps, Map Builder, TMLC home page
  • Issue: thumbnail images everywhere were not centered in the viewing space.
  • Fix: thumbnail images everywhere are now centered.

COMMUNITY FEATURE ENHANCEMENTS & BUG FIXES


Email communications

  • Added full name to To: field and email body to improve send rates of TMLC email communications 
  • Revised content in TMLC welcome emails to provide more help re: getting started with TMLC for school administrators and for teachers
